In its ongoing drive to improve safety for motorists and roadside operatives, SURVIVE - the partnership between the Highways Agency, the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO), the breakdown and recovery industry and other road service providers - has further developed the standard PAS 43 Safe working of vehicle breakdown, recovery and removal operations – Management system specification from BSI.

Survive Group celebrates ten years’ dedication to promoting safety at the roadside

In recognition of its tenth year of promoting safety at the roadside, SURVIVE is marking the occasion with the launch of the SURVIVE Group website (www.survivegroup.org) and also introducing "Best Practice Guidelines" for those organisations and technicians involved in assisting motorists on the UK's roads.

Road Safety Group Website Re-launch

As a new Safe Driving report reveals that 63% of motorists haven't read the Highway Code since passing their test, the SURVIVE GROUP (safe use of roadside verges in vehicular emergencies), is warning motorists that knowing what to do when you breakdown on the motorway can be a matter of life or death.
