Disability - Accessibility of the Strategic Road Network
This new publication details accessibility improvements for disabled customers. Published by the Highways Agency this document sets out how, having surveyed and assessed all of the network facilities, it will take forward a programme to improve the existing infrastructure. For example, road improvement schemes now provide features such as:
- Tactile paving;
- Dropped kerbs; and,
- Raising footways at bus stops
The document provides further information on the Agency's disability action plan and the range of improvement measures they are putting in place.
